About jetherton80

I recently moved to the Northeast from the Deep South about three months ago. I am a freelance writer by trade, however due to the recent downturn in the economy my writing contracts have dried up. With my saving depleted I had to sell my car to pay the rent. That money has been depleted as well, now I have less than 7 days to pay the rent I owe or I will be evicted from my home. I am 1200 miles away from anyone I really know, and have no way to get back home.

I have been looking for a "real" job, and working very hard to also obtain more writing contracts. If I do not find some temporary help with the rent and am able to find a job with a steady income I will literally be sleeping on the streets.

Although I do not like to ask for help, especially from strangers, I am at the end of my abilities to figure out what to do. If anyone out there can at least point me in the correct direction I would appricate it very much. I do not want to lose my home.

Look into rental assistance from your local dept of housing, and maybe TANF.  I am also a freelance writer and although it isn't much money you can supplement your income by writing articles for Helium.com and Associatedcontent.com - hope that helps!  Rosie
